Trump wants to take credit for halting Iran-Israel conflict
"Both Israel and Iran wanted to stop the War, equally! It was my great honor to Destroy All Nuclear facilities & capability, and then, STOP THE WAR!" he posted on Truth Social.
According to reports, Israel began launching strikes on multiple Iranian locations starting June 13, targeting military and nuclear-related sites. These attacks were based on allegations that Iran was nearing the production of a nuclear weapon—an accusation that Iran strongly rejected.
In response, Iran carried out missile and drone attacks. The US later entered the conflict, carrying out airstrikes on three of Iran’s nuclear sites on Sunday.
Following nearly two weeks of hostilities between the long-time rivals, Trump declared late Monday that a ceasefire had been reached between Israel and Iran, effectively bringing the confrontation to an end.
