Dozen US F-22 Stealth Jets Touch Down in Israel as Iran Tensions Rise

(MENAFN) At least a dozen American F-22 stealth fighter jets have landed at an Israeli Air Force base, an Israeli public broadcaster reported Tuesday, in a move signaling a sharp escalation in Washington's military posture toward Tehran.

"Twelve US F-22 fighter jets landed this afternoon at one of the Israeli Air Force bases in the south of the country, as part of the American deployment in the Middle East," the broadcaster reported.

The broadcaster further noted that the aircraft are among the most advanced fighter jets in the world, possessed only by the US, and are tasked, among other missions, with "penetrating enemy territory and disabling air defense systems and radar installations."

A Show of Force Amid Nuclear Standoff
The deployment comes as US President Donald Trump has intensified warnings of potential military action against Tehran should ongoing nuclear negotiations collapse. Washington has steadily expanded its military footprint across the Persian Gulf region in recent weeks, framing the buildup as both a deterrent and a contingency measure.

The F-22 Raptor — an air superiority platform exclusive to the US military — is widely regarded as one of the most capable stealth aircraft ever built. Its presence on Israeli soil carries unmistakable strategic weight, capable of neutralizing enemy radar networks and air defense grids ahead of any broader offensive operation.

The timing of the deployment leaves little room for ambiguity as diplomatic channels between Washington and Tehran remain under severe strain.
