Russia Ships Off Thirteen Tons of Humanitarian Aid to Iran
The shipment, consisting of medicines, was transported to Azerbaijan for onward transfer to Iranian authorities, the ministry said. The delivery was carried out on the orders of President Vladimir Putin.
“The ministry’s aviation organized the delivery of medicines to the Republic of Azerbaijan for subsequent transfer to authorized representatives of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” the statement said.
Regional tensions escalated on February 28 when the United States and Israel launched large-scale attacks on Iran, reportedly killing over 1,300 people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel as well as Gulf nations hosting U.S. military assets.
