Son of Iran’s Leader Denies Reports New Supreme Leader Harmed
“I heard news that Agha Mojtaba was injured. I asked friends who had contact with him. They said he is in good health and there is no problem,” Pezeshkian wrote on his Telegram channel.
Earlier, *The New York Times* had reported that Mojtaba Khamenei sustained leg injuries during the opening days of the US-Israeli military campaign against Iran. Mojtaba was named successor to his father, Ali Khamenei, who was reportedly killed in a US-Israeli strike on Feb. 28.
Since the joint attack, Iranian authorities report over 1,200 deaths and more than 10,000 injuries. Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military forces.
